Emily Burton
Emily Burton is a physical theatre artist and clown based in Los Angeles, California.
Ira as a teacher and mentor has been instrumental in my growth as an artist and as a human. His teachings have given me a solid foundation that isn’t limiting, but instead has required a certain amount of self-reflection and space for me to unfold into becoming my own artist. His stories, exercises, and mentorship all allow for interpretation, with a base understanding that no student has the same journey. Therefore, his approach to clown and theatre is very much the same as his approach to life: whole, and holistic. It is why I keep coming back years later to his teachings, his book, and my journals from the 8-month training I was privileged to experience with him in Brisbane, Australia. Ira’s work is the gift that keeps on giving, subtly leading me back to my own magic.
